Learning to accept help!

So those of you who know me will understand that I don't like to accept help from anyone. "I've got it. No worries!" is my mantra. Well... now comes a life learning experience. I have for the first time broken my leg and have to take it easy? What does that mean? I don't know how to do that? However, as I was thinking about the groceries that we need and another blog I need to finish, I realized that I can't do it on my own. Humbling. I have to actually make a shopping list for my husband. What is that? You mean that I actually have to plan ahead? My idea of grocery shopping is wandering the isles and throwing whatever looks good in the cart. The goal in mind is to have enough purchased to mix and match in order to actually come up with meals when I get home. Now, my kids (ages 8 and 4) have to retrieve anything that I drop, which happens often. My clients have been rescheduled. My editing seems to be slower and driving is a new task all its own. While asking for help has proven to be difficult, I am blessed with friends and family who are both willing and able.


By the way, did I mention how I broke my leg? The episode was entirely stupid!  I wasn't paying attention and boom! There I was coming home from a friends cabin without really realizing that I was back from the other bay so quickly. DUMB! I came in on the wave runner too fast and jumped off at the shoreline thinking that I could slow it down. Uhmm?  Not really going to happen when you are coming in entirely too fast. Wave runners do not have breaks and the shoreline wasn't long enough to catch the bottom. So... Hercules here thought that she could stop it herself? I couldn't have done it while water skiing or sky diving or even hiking somewhere? Nope! A waver runner!


Whatever the cause, as stupid as it is, I am chalking it up to another life learning experience:

1. Accept help once in a while. It is okay and you would do it in a heart beat for them.
2. Keep your desk semi clean so that people can find your stuff for you!
3. Pay attention while driving the wave runner!

Teasers from Kevin & Veronica's Wedding!
