Little Big Guy Grady!

This little guy was two weeks when he came in with his full head of hair! I think it was the first time I actually had to tuck a newborn's hair behind his ear. Grady was born on August 24th at a whopping 9 lbs. I hope he understands that he has no choice but to be a Fighting Souix fan. He has a good start with the jerseys, hats, stuffed animals and etc! 


Amber and Todd were so proud and he slept very well during all of my crazy business. Once he was out and comfy, I was able to do pretty much anything I wanted.  I look forward to more sessions with Grady and his family. Congratulations guys and he is lucky to have parents who are so obviously in love with him! 

50th Wedding Anniversary

Jen used her session that she purchased from a silent auction, as an Anniversary Gift for her parents. Jim and Elaine Loaney celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in September. All the kids and their families were home to show appreciation and support, even all the way from Arizona.  After the photo session, there was a party with many from the wedding party from 50 years ago in attendance.

We created these images at the Historical Hubbard House in Mankato. They were so great to let me position them in a nontraditional family pose on the porch. I love the vintage feel of this family image. Thanks guys for allowing me to be creative!

Cassidy Miller Class of 2011

Cassidy Miller is a senior at Mankato East High School and is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She was a joy to photograph and we had so much fun that I had to force myself to stop!


We started the session at Reconciliation Park, a location that is very special to Cassidy. Her father, Tom Miller, carved this buffalo from a 67-ton block of local Kasota limestone. The buffalo symbolizes the spiritual survival of the Dakota people.

We continued our session downtown near the train tracks finding some fun areas to shoot. Then we finished up at the studio with a cute dress, sparkly shoes, funky chair outdoor and a jeans, adorable shirt and chandelier indoor.

Thanks for a great time Cassidy! I can't wait until you get to see the rest!

Night Time E-Session

Emily's mother won a session from a radio auction and decided to gift it to her daughter for their engagement session. We had to reschedule the shoot two times due to weather. When we could finally get the calendars hashed out, it left us with an evening session! Tim and Emily were great to work with and it is a bummer that we won't be shooting their wedding.


Doing the session at night gave us an opportunity to create some unique shots. These are just a few to get started and were taken towards the end of the session. I will add more later.  These are far from all of them.  Usually, I take at least a week to blog the images, but I couldn't help myself.

Katelyn's 3 Month Session

Katelyn is a part of the precious moments package. Mom came in for her maternity pics and Katelyn has completed her newborn and now 3 month session. She will come back for 6, 9, and 12 month sessions as well. It is truly amazing how much they change throughout that first year.  Kaleb is such a proud big brother! I will post the future sessions so you can see for yourself how much she grows. Thanks Corcoran Family for the opportunity to capture these moments and milestones!

Thankful! I love my job.

I was chatting with a friend last night on facebook when they reminded me of how lucky I am to absolutely LOVE what I do. I am blessed that my clients and friends, allow me into their lives and capture amazing moments. Very few I know can say this. When I hear comments like, "That is totally her personality..." or "I'm amazed how you even got these! He was such a turkey that day..." or "I haven't seen my Grandparents kiss ever..." I hear how much they appreciate the images and moments captured.  How can you not love to gift them with these images and memories that will last forever? 


I wish that each and every one of you get the opportunity to be in LOVE with at least some part of your job. Also, if others affect your work load in a positive manner please tell them! Appreciate those who help you and give praise when earned. We all need to hear it. I feel like I am on a soapbox, but before moving onto this adventure I know how hard it can be to be to spend so many hours a day in a place you loath! I've been there. Had I been able to find a part where I truly felt appreciated and if co-workers did as well, maybe it would have been different? 


I am blessed and sincerely grateful to be where I am today. It certainly wouldn't be without the endless support of my family, friends and clients. Happy Friday to you all! I love my job and hope you can too.

Trisha & David's E-Session

Trisha and David will be married next year at Bethany Luther College, Mankato with his dad officiating. They are adorable! At first David was shy and uncomfortable with me shoving a camera with a really big lens in his face. Much less me telling him to smile, but not fake mind you, and snuggle in and forget I'm here. RIGHT! Trisha just smiled and laughed. As the session went on, and they could see why I was making them turn a certain way or hold an awkward position. This will make the wedding day so much easier as they are now comfortable in front of my camera. Big lens and all!  I can't wait for the wedding.
